Hi. I haven't written in a long time. I almost forgot I had a blog! And by the way, I'll tell you what I've been doing lately. It's been so cool, I got to dissect a heart! It was a sheep heart. I also got to start swim lessons, but that meant that gym class ended. Oh and about gym class, I realize I haven't told you to much about that yet. It's taught by this nice guy, Mr. Nick and he teaches us soccer, basketball, and all these cool games like gaga ball which is where you stand and the ball can't touch your feet. If it does, your out.
I am participating in NaNoWrMo, which is a month where kids get to write their own novel in just 1 month. A month seems like a long time, but it isn't when you are writing. My story is about a girl named Alizabeth, who lives in Egypt. There is no food, and no rain, so she goes quest to find help for her family, her tribe, and maybe the whole village. I think writing is hard but it's also a lot of fun. I've also have been writing poems. I wrote last week about a spider. Here it is.
Well it's late and I have to go to bed, so bye now!

Hi again!
Hi everybody. It's been a while since I wrote. It feels like 2 years since I wrote, but it's actually been around a month. I've been busy doing some classes I am taking. There is gym class and girl scouts, and of course homeschool. I still have potato, and believe it or not, he's not to squishy yet. He's actually considerably good.
I've been reading a lot of books like mysteries and dragons. I just finished the 9th book of the How to Train Your Dragon Series. It's about a small viking boy which keeps saving people and becoming a big hero against the unforgiving world of dragons, humans, and pets. My favorite character is his hunting dragon Toothless who is very funny sometimes. Sometimes he even eats shoes and Hiccups father throne, because he is the chief of the tribe. Once in one of the books, he even thought a shoe was a person! In this last book they found out that Hiccup has the slave mark which means he can't be king even though he is the heir to the chief. So Snotlout, Hiccup's worst enemy and the worst bully on the island, otherwise the best of the Hooligan Tribe, is going to take over! I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!
I've been writing a lot of stories lately and making my own books. I'd like to share them with you.
The first one is called A Duck's Life.
There once was a duck. His name was Binny. He lived on the top of a very tall oak tree. Every day he woke up and ate. He loved his life. It was a very very very happy life. He had a not very exciting life but little did he know, his life was about to change.
One day there was a huge wind. The wind made him sleepy. He took a nap. When he woke up his tree was on it's side! At first he was horrified but then he cried. He was very sad. He started to pack. It was heavy. He panted a lot.
He decided to fly high in the sky so he could see the land from above. He flew over and past lakes, mountains, and streams. soon he was tired and he stopped to rest. When he woke up he was ready to move on for a little while.
He soon got hungry. He stopped to eat. He ate dragon fly wings and nats. Then he flew up, up, and away. On his journey he met a mother owl and her baby. The talked a little while. After that he decided that they should go together. They moved on.
Flying began to be much harder as the wind picked up. Soon they stopped to rest in a cave. The cave was small and cozy. They decided that a cave was a great new home. The started to make nests. When the weather got better they went out to get grass and hay. When they came back they finished their nests. They lived happily every after.
Another story I wrote is The Story of the Lost Princess
There once was a princess who had lots and lots of treasures. She also had lots of pets. She loved her pets very very much.
Once two of her pets ran away! She ran after her pets. She ran deep into the forest. The sun started to set and it was cold. She ran all night till she dropped and fell asleep.
When she woke up she saw a fairy queen. The fairy queen asked her what ailed her. She told her. She helped her find her puppies and then the fairy queen took the princess to her tower for breakfast.
The fairy led her to the tower. They enjoyed a nice meal of nuts and berries then the queen took the princess and her puppies back home.
The End
I hope you enjoyed my stories. That's the end for today. I need to go get ready for girl scouts. Bye!

school and potato
Hi. Now is my first week of school and almost the first whiff of winter! Well, I can't wait until the first autumn snowfall. I can't wait to build a snowman and go sledding, and there may even be a big pile of snow from when the people plow our driveway. But for now, we've been picking lots and lots of berries. Salmonberries to be exact.
We are doing a different type of school with my math on the computer. My math is really fun and it has this little silly character that does stuff every time I get a problem right, like jump rope, or climb, or shout! It's really really fun!
This year I made a friend potato which is actually a potato that isn't cooked yet! I even made it a home with furniture and stole a pair of mom's earrings so he could have something to dress with. I made him a bed from legos and even got some cotton for a pillow, and a blanket made of felt. I'll clip his eyes when he sprouts some and I won't care when he gets mushy.
That's it. I'll write more later.

A Nasty Day
Hi again. It's really windy, foggy, and rainy outside. Luckily we don't have to do anything, or go anywhere. Even the few trees are bent sideways in the wind. We made a small tent that we can read in. Luckily it isn't outside. It's made with blankets, clothespins, rope, and pillows. It's fun to read in it and it even has Christmas lights and blankets.
We start school next week and I'm really excited. I have a new math program which is really fun and it's on kind of a show on the computer. I get to use it during school. It's called teaching textbooks.
Well that's all for now. Bye.

soccer, birds, and books
Hi again, I've been having a really fun week. My mom signed me up for soccer. Some of my friends are there and I know one of the coaches. But guess what? I had to wear a regular shirt, a fleece, woolen socks, a heavy jacket, plus sweat pants, a winter hat, and my soccer shoes! Isn't that a lot of layers? Well I think it is. It's really cold and it seems that winter's coming earlier. I can't wait for Halloween! I still don't know what I am going to be, but I hope I figure it out soon. I am already getting the first whiff of winter plus it is already August. It's pretty fun although my soccer shoes rub and now I have a blister.
We don't see a lot of birds migrating because our birds stay here. We have birds which are graceful, can attack, and are rare in other places. We have finches, ptarmigans, and bald eagles. We also have seagulls, puffins, and ducks. In duck hunting season, dad and I go duck hunting. I like duck hunting. Sometimes I look at the organs. Do you know that duck hearts have four chambers and in their stomach you find little leaves and seaweed. And I also found pebbles that they swallowed to help digestion and to help them grind food up.
I signed up for the summer reading program and I already reached my goal of 60 books and got all the prizes. I just finished the book The Chocolate Touch. It's about a boy which ate a special piece of chocolate and now everything that gores into his mouth or he touches turns to chocolate. He even gave his mom a kiss and she turned to chocolate. Any liquid of solids that touches his mouth turns to chocolate. The store keeper was magic and every time John went there for not a very good reason like saying thank you, even though saying thank you is a good thing, the store wasn't there. There was only an empty lot. But when he came back to ask for his mother to be back to a real thing and not a statue of chocolate, the store was there! After he asked the store keeper, he ran back home, and there she was as fine as if she had never been turned to chocolate. He got rid of the chocolate touch by doing the right thing. I really likes this book, but it was one of the shortest chapter books I've ever read. It was just 88 pages!
I'll write more tomorrow.

camp
I went to camp and guess what? The pipe clogged up when we were making medicine and water got on the floor. Then we had to stop. The medicines were for pushki burns and sore muscles. These medicines come from plants growing beside where we have our camp. We picked them yestereday and we were supposed to make medicines today.
The camp I am going to is Unangan camp. It's my second time doing it, they only have it in the summer. I like it and most of my friends are there. Right now we are sewing some kind of velvet made seals. I'm learning some Unangan words and one is the Unangan word for rain.
We do have a recess there. We go either out on the playground or play on a play structure inside. A boy got hurt today and his tooth almost fell out and there was some blood on his tooth. He didn't cry and I was very impressed because I would have cried.
Tomorrow is my last day of camp and we are doing a play. All the moms and dads are coming to the play. My part is to be a bird and we are flying all over and finding a place to land. I like doing this play, although sometimes I feel like I don't really know what to do. Last year I had to be the waves.
That's it for now.

My first blog
Hi, I'm Ansley. I'm 6 years old. This is my first blog and I'm really
excited to start writing in it. I live in Alaska and I'm homeschooled. I
like enjoying nature and I also enjoy having an I-pad. I got it for
Christmas and my favorite thing to do on it is to play educational games
like sushi monster and Oregon trail.
I wanted a blog because mom has a blog. This is a place where I can write my thoughts and what I do. Mom said that it would help my typing.
I like homeschooing because I get to work at my pace and have more time to play and invent. I love inventing and making scenes, It's how I play. I also love inventing recipes like my sugar balls, which is basically just sugar dough with sprinkles baked for 5 minutes. Sugar dough stands for sugar cookie dough.
Another thing I like to do a lot is to read. I love Roald Dahl books and also funny comics. My favorite comic is the original Calvin and Hobbes. I even draw my own pictures of them. I also love the How to Train Your Dragon series. I've read all the ones that the library has so we need to start ordering the others. I like that they are funny and about dragons. My favorite character is Hiccup. My second favorite character is Toothless.
That's it for today.
