Hi. Now is my first week of school and almost the first whiff of winter! Well, I can't wait until the first autumn snowfall. I can't wait to build a snowman and go sledding, and there may even be a big pile of snow from when the people plow our driveway. But for now, we've been picking lots and lots of berries. Salmonberries to be exact.
We are doing a different type of school with my math on the computer. My math is really fun and it has this little silly character that does stuff every time I get a problem right, like jump rope, or climb, or shout! It's really really fun!
This year I made a friend potato which is actually a potato that isn't cooked yet! I even made it a home with furniture and stole a pair of mom's earrings so he could have something to dress with. I made him a bed from legos and even got some cotton for a pillow, and a blanket made of felt. I'll clip his eyes when he sprouts some and I won't care when he gets mushy.
That's it. I'll write more later.

A Nasty Day
Hi again. It's really windy, foggy, and rainy outside. Luckily we don't have to do anything, or go anywhere. Even the few trees are bent sideways in the wind. We made a small tent that we can read in. Luckily it isn't outside. It's made with blankets, clothespins, rope, and pillows. It's fun to read in it and it even has Christmas lights and blankets.
We start school next week and I'm really excited. I have a new math program which is really fun and it's on kind of a show on the computer. I get to use it during school. It's called teaching textbooks.
Well that's all for now. Bye.

soccer, birds, and books
Hi again, I've been having a really fun week. My mom signed me up for soccer. Some of my friends are there and I know one of the coaches. But guess what? I had to wear a regular shirt, a fleece, woolen socks, a heavy jacket, plus sweat pants, a winter hat, and my soccer shoes! Isn't that a lot of layers? Well I think it is. It's really cold and it seems that winter's coming earlier. I can't wait for Halloween! I still don't know what I am going to be, but I hope I figure it out soon. I am already getting the first whiff of winter plus it is already August. It's pretty fun although my soccer shoes rub and now I have a blister.
We don't see a lot of birds migrating because our birds stay here. We have birds which are graceful, can attack, and are rare in other places. We have finches, ptarmigans, and bald eagles. We also have seagulls, puffins, and ducks. In duck hunting season, dad and I go duck hunting. I like duck hunting. Sometimes I look at the organs. Do you know that duck hearts have four chambers and in their stomach you find little leaves and seaweed. And I also found pebbles that they swallowed to help digestion and to help them grind food up.
I signed up for the summer reading program and I already reached my goal of 60 books and got all the prizes. I just finished the book The Chocolate Touch. It's about a boy which ate a special piece of chocolate and now everything that gores into his mouth or he touches turns to chocolate. He even gave his mom a kiss and she turned to chocolate. Any liquid of solids that touches his mouth turns to chocolate. The store keeper was magic and every time John went there for not a very good reason like saying thank you, even though saying thank you is a good thing, the store wasn't there. There was only an empty lot. But when he came back to ask for his mother to be back to a real thing and not a statue of chocolate, the store was there! After he asked the store keeper, he ran back home, and there she was as fine as if she had never been turned to chocolate. He got rid of the chocolate touch by doing the right thing. I really likes this book, but it was one of the shortest chapter books I've ever read. It was just 88 pages!
I'll write more tomorrow.

camp
I went to camp and guess what? The pipe clogged up when we were making medicine and water got on the floor. Then we had to stop. The medicines were for pushki burns and sore muscles. These medicines come from plants growing beside where we have our camp. We picked them yestereday and we were supposed to make medicines today.
The camp I am going to is Unangan camp. It's my second time doing it, they only have it in the summer. I like it and most of my friends are there. Right now we are sewing some kind of velvet made seals. I'm learning some Unangan words and one is the Unangan word for rain.
We do have a recess there. We go either out on the playground or play on a play structure inside. A boy got hurt today and his tooth almost fell out and there was some blood on his tooth. He didn't cry and I was very impressed because I would have cried.
Tomorrow is my last day of camp and we are doing a play. All the moms and dads are coming to the play. My part is to be a bird and we are flying all over and finding a place to land. I like doing this play, although sometimes I feel like I don't really know what to do. Last year I had to be the waves.
That's it for now.
